The head of the COVID-19 Management Working Group, Doni Monardo, said that the high number of Corona cases in Indonesia is due to the trust of the people. In fact, there are still some who are very confident that they will not be exposed to COVID-19.
Doni explained, previously based on an initial survey conducted by Balitbangkes of the Indonesian Ministry of Health in July 2020, there were 5 provinces whose people believed they had not been exposed to COVID-19, namely DKI Jakarta, East Java, Central Java , West Java and South Kalimantan.
“From the latest data compiled by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), it turns out that at the national level there are 17 percent of our citizens who feel very confident that they will not be exposed to COVID-19,” Doni explained in a question and answer broadcast on Youtube BNPB, on Friday (10/10/2020).
“This figure of 17 percent is very, very high, because 17 percent of the 270 million citizens of the country are equivalent to 44.9 million people who feel safe not to be exposed,” he continued.
