He sent a letter to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, requesting the suspension of the Employment Creation Law.

“We hereby inform the President that, on behalf of the Government of the East Java Province, on behalf of the working-class community, we request that you consider suspending the promulgation of the Omnibus Law, which has reached a joint agreement between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the House of Representatives. It is known that the letter requesting the suspension of the Omnibus Law was addressed to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, and the Indonesian Minister of the Interior. The letter was drawn up on Thursday (8/10) and signed directly by Khofifah.

Khofifah was previously known to receive labor / worker representatives. He then held a dialogue with the President of the Indonesian Trade Unions Confederation (KSPSI) Ahmad Fauzi, the General Secretary of the Indonesian Federation of Metalworkers Trade Unions (FSPMI) Jazuli and the president of the Indonesian Workers’ Union ( SBSI) Achmad Soim.
