The Joint Investigation Team (TGPF) on shootings in Intan Jaya, Papua, was shot down by an armed criminal group (KKB). The shooting took place after the team investigated a crime scene (TKP) related to the series of shootings that occurred in Intan Jaya.

“The KKB intercepted after carrying out the TKP in Hitadipa towards Sugapa,” Kogabwilhan III chief Colonel Czi IGN Suriastawa told reporters on Friday (September 10, 2020).

It is known that the victim was the Hitadipa Apter task force, Faisal Akbar. He had a gunshot wound to the waist and was conscious.

Another victim was a UGM professor who joined the TGPF, Bambang Purwoko. Bambang suffered gunshot wounds to his left ankle and wrist. He is currently conscious.

TGPF is heading towards Sugapa, Intan Jaya. The group departed from Mozes Kilangin Airport, Timika, to Sugapa Airport using two charter planes on Thursday (10/08) at 07.05 WIT. The team landed at Sugapa Airport, Intan Jaya, at 08:32 WIT.

TGPF President Benny Mamoto said the team had been in Timika since Wednesday (7/10) due to traffic and today moved to Sugapa to find data on the shooting that killed 2 TNI members, 1 civilian and 1 priest.

“Today we are heading to Sugapa to start taking information about the shooting case in Intan Jaya,” TGPF President Benny Mamoto said when meeting at the Horison Hotel, Timika, Papua, on Thursday (10/8).
