Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan observing two damaged sites in Jakarta after the academy rejected the Omnibus Act Job Creation Bill, yesterday, Thursday (8/10) morning.
The two places he visited were the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout Stop and the Senen area, where several stalls and the cinema were burned.
“This morning I inspected public facilities in Jakarta that were damaged yesterday. Throughout the night, the lines worked to clean up so that the people of Jakarta could go about their normal activities this Friday morning,” Anies said in Jakarta on Friday ( 9/10).
In its review, Anies said it would still calculate DKI’s losses due to the fire. One of the places that burned was the Bisokop in Senen, central Jakarta. Anies said officers had carried out the blackout and had now entered the cool down stage.
“Then secondly, there are several places where there were fires. Right now we are still calculating how much the losses will be,” Anies explained.
“Hopefully in a short time we will get the data. I just checked Senen because last night there was a fire at this location and its location has spread to the kiosks,” he continued.
Anies said, at first the fire was only in the cinema. However, the fire spread to the kiosk around the cinema and engulfed all the buildings around it.
“At first in the cinema and then thank God now it has cooled down. Hopefully this afternoon the blackout process is completed,” concluded Anies.
In the same place, the mayor of Central Jakarta, Bayu Megantara, explained that four commercial houses were burned in the Bisokop Senen area. Then there are three TransJakarta bus stops that were also damaged around the Lima Senen intersection.
“As a result of a huge fire in a cinema in 4 stores behind him. The governor said that, including 2 bookstores, there are 3 bus stops from Transjakarta, including 2 workers’ vehicles that are conducting activities at this intersection of five” Bayu concluded.
Meanwhile, PT TransJakarta Managing Director Jhony Tjitrokusumo explained that as of this morning TransJakarta’s losses due to the destruction of public facilities reached 55 billion rupees. This figure was obtained from about 20 bus stops that were vandalized.
Despite experiencing losses, Jhony ensured that various TransJakarta services could function normally. Then several bus stops were immediately cleaned up so that the community could use them immediately.
“We are preparing operations to continue serving the community, the Governor asked that services to the community be prioritized, restored and served,” he concluded.
