“It was a fire from a massive burning action,” Agus said when contacted by phone in Jakarta on Friday morning.
Agus said that when the fire started Thursday night around 9:30 p.m. WIB, the crowd was still packed into the venue.
Firefighters found it difficult to make efforts to suppress them for fear of being the target of their anarchist actions.
“Agents were only able to perform the blackout when TNI agents provided escort,” he said.
Agus said that as of Friday morning, his group had deployed 30 fire trucks.
