Suara.com – The president of the Confederation of Indonesian Workers’ Unions (KSPI), Said Iqbal, shook his head when the coordinating Minister of Economy, Airlangga Hartarto, said that the demonstration against the adoption of the Omnibus Employment Law that took place in several regions it was a paid demonstration.

“It is not true (the accusation),” Said said when contacted. Suara.com, Thursday (8/10/2020).

Said also challenged Airlangga to prove his statement, according to him, whoever is accused must have the courage to prove it.

“Just show the person,” he said.

According to him, the KSPI and other labor organizations were very open and had nothing to hide.

According to him, the actions of day laborers and other community institutions that are currently going downhill are purely from a restless attitude towards the law of the broomstick that could threaten their survival.

“If you ask the members, their future is threatened for 30-40 years. So, because of the call, that’s why they took action,” he concluded.

The coordinating Minister of Economy, Airlangga Hartarto, said that the workers’ demonstration to reject the ratification of the Omnibus Law for Job Creation had worsened the economic situation in Indonesia, which was already devastated by the coronavirus or Covid-19 pandemic.

Airlangga argued that the demonstration activity would create a new group of corona virus infections and, of course, make it more difficult for the government to carry out the economic recovery process.

“If the number of people exposed to Covid-19 increases, of course, it will also result in an economic recovery,” Airlangga said on a television show Thursday.
