Anies meets a mass of protest against the Omnibus Law in the HI roundabout

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Jakarta DKI Governor Anies Baswedan came out and met with protesters who refused to be authorized all the law The Job Creation Law at the Hotel Indonesia (HI) Rotunda, Jakarta, Thursday (8/10/2020).

Anies arrived with Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief Inspector General Pol Nana Sudjana and Jaya Regional Military Commander Major General TNI Dudung Abdurachman.

Anies’ presence was welcomed by the remaining protesters, who had previously been successfully dispersed by joint officers from both the National Police and TNI.

Anies also had time to listen to the complaints of the workers that were masses of actions to reject the Omnibus Law of Job Creation.

“I am just the son of a farmer. I work as security. Although I work in security, the important thing is legality and there is justice,” a middle-aged man said to applause.

After the workers voiced their opinions, the masses began to gather. They sang the song “Bagimu Negeri” to accompany the departure of Anies, Kapolda and Pangdam.

Currently, several protesters accompanied by the Police and TNI continue to resist around the HI Rotunda.

They were asked to disband and return to their respective homes.
