Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia– The Covid-19 Management Working Group emphasized that the demonstrations that occurred in the last 3 days could potentially become a new Covid-19 transmission group. This will backfire in Indonesia’s fight to control Covid-19 in the last 7 months.
“There are currently community groups expressing their aspirations openly, with this large number of potentials to become a Covid-19 cluster,” said Covid-19 Task Force spokesman Professor Wiku Adisasmito at a press conference Thursday (10/8/2020).
He stressed that in the war against Covid-19, not only the government and health workers can. However, community participation in the implementation of health protocols is of utmost importance.
“We are still in a pandemic condition, we remind people to work hand in hand to reduce the number of Covid-19, #pakaimasker, #jagajarakhindarikerumunan and #cucitanganpakaisabun or hand sanitizer is the key,” Wiku said.
“We hope that clusters will not emerge due to recent activities. Without this synergy, regional cases will increase,” Wiku said.
The rally in the midst of the feared Covid-19 pandemic could become a veritable new group. The crowd, made up of a group of people because of the demonstration, added to the number of new cases.
In Tangerang, 13 reactive workers were found after undergoing the rapid Covid-19 test. The test was carried out when workers held a demonstration on Tuesday (10/6) and today. The test was carried out on workers from PT KMK in Cikupa.
“We have 90 rapid tests, from 90 samples we get the results of 13 reactive people,” Kapolres Tangerang Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi was quoted as saying by detikcom, Wednesday (10/7/2020).
Next, 12 people with reactive Covid-19 rapid test were found at DKI Jakarta. They were found among 200 people suspected of being an anarcho group who were about to act in the DPR, Central Jakarta, last Wednesday. Of the 200 people who were arrested, 90 people have been in rapid tests and 12 of them are reactive.
“In fact, today there are more than 200 groups, the group we suspect is anarcho trying to join the demonstration in front of the DPR building that we managed to secure,” said Polda Metro Jaya’s head of Public Relations, Kombes Yusri Yunus.
Hundreds of young people are currently detained at Polda Metro Jaya. They also performed a swab test to anticipate the spread of the Corona virus.
Additionally, West Jakarta Police Chief Kombes Audie S Latuheru said there were 89 teenagers arrested, of whom two were confirmed positive for Covid-19.
