KOMPAS.com – Employers who are members of the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) ask the workers not to participate in the national strike.
The reason is that if it is done, it is considered to be in violation of Law (UU) Number 13 of 2013 on Labor.
Thus, workers who participate in the action can be penalized.
“In the law there is no national strike. If the workers take an action, the law is violated and there are sanctions,” Apindo Central Java president Frans Kongie said on Tuesday (6/10/2020).

The sanctions imposed, Frans said, depend on the respective companies. They take many forms, from reprimand to firing.
For this reason, before the action was carried out, his party had asked companies to provide understanding to their workers.
Frans said that the demonstration was held by the workers in response to the passage of the Employment Creation Law because they were deemed not to understand.
The reason is that the Omnibus Law of the Employment Creation Law was proposed as a solution to the problem of overlapping regulations that have occurred so far.
Therefore, the regulation is really very precise and has been awaited by the entrepreneurs.
“So far, the regulations are too many, they overlap each other. We have to deliver this report. This is very inefficient for the business world,” he explained.
“In my opinion, the workers do not understand the meaning of the emergence of the omnibus law. It is impossible for the government to want to torment the workers. Apindo cannot exist without workers. The workers are our partners,” he said.

Other than that, his party also disagrees on whether the DPR members should be blamed.
The reason is that it is the chosen people who have the competence to represent the people.
“Those who are members of the DPR are not idiots. They are smart enough to represent the people. That is why we are surprised that in the national strike they want to reject the Cipta Kerja (Omnibus Law) Law,” he said.
