A total of 9,346 joint TNI-Polri personnel were deployed to ensure action demonstration to refuse Omnibus Copyright Law (Ciptaker Law) in Jakarta on Thursday (8/10) tomorrow.
“Our 9,346 staff will be deployed to DKI Jakarta,” said Polda Metro Public Relations Director Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus at Polda Metro Jaya on Wednesday (7/10).
However, Yusri said, this number could still increase if necessary to ensure that the security situation remains conducive.
“We will see. We have reserves to prepare, if necessary, we will add more,” he said.
Yusri said that until now the police continued to make preventive efforts by appealing to the masses not to hold demonstrations.
In addition, he continued, until now, Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) were still being implemented to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
“We hope all of you do not do activities, meet during the PSBB period,” Yusri said.
He states that so far the situation in Jakarta remains auspicious. It’s just that, on social media, there are indeed many videos that are intended to provoke.
“Yesterday there were many irresponsible people distributing old videos distributed on social networks to spread provocations, yes, on social networks, that is false news. Jakarta has been conducive to this day, ”he said.
Several workers, students and other community groups are planning to hold a demonstration against the Omnibus Law of the Ciptaker Law in front of the State Palace, Jakarta, on October 8.
They will call for the repeal of the Ciptaker Act passed by the House of Representatives on October 5.
Various provisions of the Ciptaker Act are considered detrimental to workers and workers.
The demonstration itself will initially take place in front of the DPR building. However, DPR is entering an accelerated hiatus since last Tuesday (10/6).
