The DPR RI plenary session on the ratification of the Job Creation Bill was marked by an incident in which the microphone of a member of the Democratic Party faction died when he delivered an interruption. Fadli Zon, who was once the leader of the DPR RI, commented on the dead microphone incident.

Fadli Zon is a former Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian Parliament for the 2014-2019 term of the Gerindra Faction. As the leader of the DPR at the time, Fadli used to lead the plenary sessions.

“Mik will only die only if the member’s talk time has passed 5 minutes. That is the talk time for interruptions,” said Fadli Zon on his official Twitter, on Wednesday (7/10/2020).

Fadli Zon said that if 5 minutes had not passed but the microphone was dead, it meant that the microphone was deliberately turned off by the button on the chair on the table.

“If it has not been 5 minutes that the microphone is dead, it means that it is off from the button on the leadership table,” said this member of Commission I DPR RI.

It was a member of the Democratic Faction of the RI DPR, Irwan, whose microphone died after being interrupted. The movements of the president of the DPR, Puan Maharani, from the table that led the plenary session were highlighted just before the mik of Irwan died. The PDIP said that Puan Maharani turned off the microphone because he was asked to do so by the vice president of the DPR, Azis Syamsuddin, who guided the proceedings.

“You can see the whispers in the conversation. Then they stop at the leadership table. I see. They stop talking at the leadership table,” RI DPR PDIP faction secretary Bambang Wuryanto told reporters. , on Tuesday (10/6/2020).
