The Confederation of Indonesian Workers’ Unions (KSPI) emphasized that it did not participate in the demonstration that ended in chaos in the DPRD of West Java. KSPI emphasized that the unions will go on strike to reject the Employment Creation Law in their respective factories.

“It has nothing to do with the KSPI and the 32 union federations. The action takes place within the factory environment,” he said, “KSPI President Said Iqbal told reporters on Tuesday (10 / 6/2020).

Said said that to prevent the transmission of the Corona virus, workers took measures in their respective factories. And they are encouraged to follow health protocols.

“We are still focused on a national strike, this is a national strike just a term in the form of simultaneous demonstrations in factories across Indonesia nationwide. We will see progress. We could meet again with 32 existing federations,” Said said.

“As we said that we are still implementing the COVID-19 protocol, we do not want a new cluster. That is why it is chosen inside the factory door, the instructions are clear, it must be done inside the factory door,” he continued.

However, Said said his party would prepare legal resources. He said that the KSPI would file a lawsuit in the Constitutional Court (MK).

“In addition to the option of follow-up is the legal action, we are preparing the first lawsuit, which is about the formal case that we demand, it does not comply with the procedures, does not involve active participation of the community, including the workers, the meeting is in a hotel to hotel, moves, the plenary session is advanced without public contracting. “Those who like this have to prove them formally. And if this is granted, all content of the law is annulled by the Constitutional Court. Both subway trials, we will see which articles are injured,” he said.
