KOMPAS.com – Information has circulated on social media that there has not been a national strike organized by labor groups to reject the ratification of the Omnibus Law for Job Creation.
The narrative on social media said that a national strike led by the Indonesian Trade Union Confederation (KSPI) would be called off.
However, the KSPI confirmed that the information was not true.
Circulating narrative
Rush Tea’s Facebook account on Tuesday morning (6/10/2020) posted the following status:
“Aren’t you embarrassed? With the members?
Yesterday Begonoh … eeh now Look Nii..Niii …. “
The Rush Tea account also uploads a photo of the letter with the KSPI logo that contains instructions for canceling the national strike.

KSPI explanation
When contacted Kompas.comKahar S. Cahyono, Head of the Media and Communication Department at KSPI, said the letter was a hoax.
Kahar said the letter had been circulating on social media since yesterday.
“We first found it on Facebook,” Kahar said when contacted. Kompas.com, Tuesday (10/6/2020).
“We convey that the letter is a hoax. It is not true. KSPI’s attitude has not changed. It continues on a national strike, as a form of protest against the approval of the Cipta Kerja Omnibus Law, ”he continued.
He added that KSPI criticized the parties who said it had forged KSPI’s letter.
“According to KSPI, this is an effort to weaken the rejection of the Omnibus Law. We also call on Indonesian workers and other elements of society to ignore the letter,” Kahar said.
