JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia has been going on for about seven months, but so far there are no signs of it ending.
The transmission of the corona virus to this day, Monday (10/5/2020), is still ongoing. As a result, the number of Covid-19 cases continues to grow at a high rate.
According to government data this Monday at 12.00 WIB, there were 3,622 additional new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
The addition has caused the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country to now reach 307,120 people, as of the announcement of the first case on March 2, 2020.

This information was transmitted by the Covid-19 Management Working Group through data received by journalists on Monday afternoon.

The patient recovered and died
Although the number of Covid-19 cases continues to rise, the government is trying to foster hope by showing that more and more Covid-19 patients are recovering.
In one day, there were an additional 4,140 Covid-19 patients who recovered and were deemed no longer infected with the corona virus.
They were declared cured based on an examination Polymerase chain reaction showing negative results for coronavirus.
Thus, the total number of recovered patients after being infected with Covid-19 now stands at 232,593 people.

However, there is still sad news with the recorded addition of Covid-19 patients who died.
In the period of October 4-5, 2020, 102 Covid-19 patients are known to have died.
Therefore, the death rate due to Covid-19 in Indonesia has now reached 11,253 people.
With this change in the data, there are currently 63,274 active cases of Covid-19 in Indonesia.
Apart from active cases, the government has also shown that currently 141,169 people are registered with suspicious status.
Sample data
A total of 3,622 new cases of Covid-19 were obtained after the government examined 27,024 specimens per day.

To date, the government has examined 3,515,165 specimens from 2,119,355 people sampled.

Covid-19 cases have been recorded in all provinces of Indonesia, from Aceh to Papua.
In particular, there are 498 districts / cities in 34 provinces that have registered Covid-19 patients.
This number has increased by one district / city compared to yesterday’s data. There are still 16 regions that have not registered any cases of Covid-19.
This means that more than 96 percent of the Indonesian area is affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
