Launching ReutersIn a widely circulated video, Trump appears to be waving from the back seat of a black SUV Sunday night. He appeared to be wearing a mask while many of his followers cheered and waved the American flag. Shortly before that short trip, Trump posted a video on Twitter saying he would “give some of the great patriots we have on the streets a little surprise.”
White House spokesman Judd Deere described the trip as “a short last-minute caravan to greet supporters” and said Trump was rushing back to his hospital room.
Deere said “adequate precautions have been taken” before the trip to protect the president and his supporters. “The move was allowed by the medical team because it is safe to do so,” he said. Reuters.
