Against Leeds, City seemed quite violent with 23 attempts, although only two hit and two off the crossbar. Raheem Sterling opened Manchester City’s lead in the 17th minute, before being equaled by Rodrigo Moreno’s whites after capitalizing on Ederson’s lackluster ball in the second half.
With one point won, Manchester City are temporarily in 10th position with four points from three games. Manchester Blue are four points behind Liverpool in third place. The numerical difference will increase if Liverpool beat Aston Villa at Villa Park on Monday (5/10) WIB morning.
Liverpool are still expected to be City’s main rival in Premier League competition this season. Though left behind the RedsPep Guardiola insisted that this is not the time to think about the title.
“We have one game less,” Guardiola said on the City’s official website. “I know how we have to win a lot of games to top the table. But I’m not thinking about whether we will win the league after three games.”
“Yes, this is it. I know where we are now. I am satisfied with what they have done so far. We need to improve some things and we are still a bit far from our best performances,” said the City manager.
“I know how difficult this league is and our opponents don’t waste a lot of points. Today was a completely different game than Leicester because the opponent’s game was completely different. I am very proud of these players and the team,” Guardiola said.
