Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

Health Minister Terawan Agus Putranto asked the media not to confuse and make noise during a pandemic corona virus (COVID-19). According to him, it is better that the press contributes in a concrete way to the management of the corona virus.

Terawan relayed this when he received a visit from the Central Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) on Friday (2/10).

“We take an example. The success of several countries outside such as Singapore and other countries thanks to the press defending their country through correct reports, the pandemic can be fought,” Terawan said in a press release received by CNNIndonesia.com , on Saturday (3/10).

“It doesn’t even cloud and make noise,” he added.

Terawan also said that the press can be a hero who plays an important role in serving the community through good and correct reporting during a pandemic. Journalists have an important duty to avoid deception and misleading news.

“The media are national heroes like during this pandemic, when the nation needs your thoughts and energy to overcome the spread of Covid-19,” Terawan said.

At this meeting, Terawan also said that he will attend the PWI Mappilu discussion that will take place before the upcoming simultaneous regional elections on December 9.

Some time ago, the Minister of Terawan had a discussion because he did not comply with the invitation to attend the Najwa Mata program led by Najwa Shihab, on Wednesday (9/30) which was shown on Trans 7.

Many parties expect Terawan to speak more publicly about the government that has failed to control the corona virus. Various parties have also filed petitions calling on Jokowi to remove Terawan.
