TRIBUNJOGJA.COM, SLEMAN – A fatal traffic accident (lakalantas) occurred at Jalan Magelang KM 7.8, Mlati, Sleman on Saturday (10/3/2020) morning.
The accident involved two units of four-wheelers of the types Honda Mobilio and Mitsubishi Xpander.
“Yes, that’s right, it happened this morning around 5.45 WIB, at Jalan Magelang KM 7.8, to be precise, south of the police post in front of AHASS Mlati Jaya,” Mlati Police Chief Kompol Hariyanto said when It was confirmed, on Saturday (3/10/2020).

Kompol Hariyanto explained that the incident started when a Honda Mobilio vehicle with police number (nopol) H 8571 RG was traveling at high speed from north to south.
Upon arriving at the scene of the case (TKP), the car allegedly spun out of control and hit the center divider or the median of the road.
“Then the car jumped because it collided with a road divider and immediately collided with the Mitsubishi Xpander number B 2004 BZP driving from south to north,” explained the police chief.
The police chief added that the Honda Mobilio was carrying seven passengers.
Of that number, four were declared dead on the spot. Meanwhile, the driver of the Mitsubishi Xpander suffered only minor injuries.
“The temporary suspicion that the victim of the Mitsubishi Xpander and the cause of the accident was due to the negligence of the Honda Mobilio driver who was suspected of being affected by alcohol,” he added.

Kompol Hariyanto stated that at that time various pieces of evidence and victims had been evacuated and that traffic around the site had returned to normal.
From the official statement in the field, the bounced Red Mobilio passenger was thought to have died, then he was taken to the Bhayangkara Hospital of the Yogyakarta Regional Police.
Meanwhile, three of his colleagues were evacuated at Sleman Regional Hospital with injuries.
Meanwhile, a Mitsubishi Xpander driver was brought to RSA UGM Yogyakarta.
“The victims who died were evacuated at the Yogyakarta Regional Police Bhayangkara Hospital and the injured victims are being treated at UGM RSA. For identity and other matters to be complete, further examinations are still underway,” he added.
