Medan Police Deputy Chief AKBP Irsan Sinuhaji relayed the suspect’s determination during a press conference at Medan Police Headquarters on Friday (10/2/2020).

According to Irsan, the police conducted an investigation when they received information about a pool party that went viral on social media.

The location in the video was confirmed to be at the Hairos pool at Jalan Jamin Ginting, Namu Bintang Village, Pancur Batu District, Deli Serdang.

“After going to the field, the team tried to meet with management and met with the general manager and other parties that need to be confirmed regarding the news,” Irsan said.

From the examination it was found that the pool party did not have permission from the Covid-19 Task Force.

The pool management offers a 50 percent discount on admission and advertising on social media.

“Why do that, because during the pandemic the turnover has decreased. Once explored, where does this initiative come from, the management?” Said Irsan.

ES is threatened with a prison term of 1 year or a fine of IDR 100 million.

Although the suspect was named, ES was not detained.

Internal police control

Irsan added that his party was also conducting investigative procedures internally.

The Medan Polrestabes Safety and Professional Division is currently examining the involvement of local police officers in these activities.

“Is there any involvement of the local police in these activities? So all the Kapolsek, including these members, are being taken over by the Propam Police,” Irsan said.
