JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The spokesperson for the Covid-19 Management Working Group, Wiku Adisasmito, clarified the statement that the government only covers the treatment of patients with Covid-19 in referral hospitals.
It indicated that, based on the Decree of the Ministry of Health (KMK) RI Number HK.01 / 07 / MENKES / 446/2020, the financing of patients treated with emerging infectious diseases (PIE) can be claimed from the Ministry of Health, through the General Directorate of Health Services.
“Therefore, in accordance with these provisions, funding claims may be awarded to hospitals that provide certain PIE services,” Wiku said in a written statement on Friday (10/2/2020).

“This includes field hospitals or emergency hospitals that are established in certain locations during emergency conditions and periods of emergency response to disasters,” continued Wiku.
The components of government-funded health services include: administration of services and accommodation (rooms and services in emergency rooms, hospitalization rooms, intensive care rooms and isolation rooms).
This is followed by medical services, performance in the room, use of a ventilator and diagnostic support tests (laboratory and radiology according to medical indications).
Then consumable medical supplies, medicines, medical devices including the use of PPE in the room, diversion ambulances, dead bodies and other health services as medically indicated.
Additionally, patients with suspected, probable, and confirmed Covis-19 can be transferred to non-isolated care if the condition meets the criteria for complete isolation, but still requires additional treatment for certain conditions.

Certain conditions are related to comorbidities or comorbidities suffered by Covid-19 patients.
Wiku said that patients who experience these conditions and experience comorbid complications, have funding guaranteed by the National Health Insurance or independent health insurance.
“The full cost of care is the government’s commitment to help ease the burden of Covid-19 patients in Indonesia,” Wiku said.
Earlier, Wiku stated that the government cannot bear the cost of patient care in private, non-referral hospitals.
“So, of course, patients who are treated in private hospitals, if they are not part of a referral hospital, they certainly cannot be covered,” Wiku said at a press conference from the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday (10 / 01/2020).
Therefore, Wiku advises patients who want to be free to choose a government referral hospital.

Wiku said that the government would provide a special ambulance to house patients in hospitals and health centers.
As well as making things easier for patients, this also helps prevent the spread of the corona virus.
“Therefore, please contact the nearest hospital so that they can pick you up and take care of you properly, without risking other people with vehicles that may not be designed to transport patients with Covid-19 symptoms,” Wiku said.
