Suara.com – There was a riot between the Commander of the 0504 Military District Command / Colonel Ucu Yustiana of South Jakarta and several retired generals calling themselves Retired Guardians of State Sovereignty at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (9/30/2020), then.
The commotion came after retired officers were asked to abide by health protocols by keeping their distance because it was currently the Covid-19 pandemic.
The uproar on TMP Kalibata, which later went viral on social media, drew reactions from various groups. Politician Mustofa Nahrawardaya satirically said that this country had become strange since 2014.
“Yes, this is really strange. Since 2014, this homeland has become strange,” said Mustofa. Suara.com from their social media accounts.
Mustofa’s statement responded to the attitude of his colleague, Party politician Gerindra Fadli Zon, who criticized Dandim’s attitude towards the activities of retired officers which, according to Fadli Zon, were “wrong”.
“It is not Dandim’s business to take care of the TMP” to confront “retired officers who want to go on pilgrimages and prevent people from talking or talking. Misunderstanding,” he said.
On the YouTube channel, Rocky Gerung said surveillance should be a duty of the police. “It’s a bit strange why the commander of Kodim went directly there, so my analysis was that the one who came down was ordered directly. He also had the discretion to” say that I know it is my territory, so I will coordinate with the police and I ask the pack there, “Rocky said.
Following the incident, the Commander of the Jaya Regional Military Command, Major General Dudung Abdurachman, explained that the commotion that occurred at the Kalibata TMP flower planting event was motivated by the statement that he violated health protocols.
“We, who are members of the disciplinary application to comply with the Yustisi Operations Health Protocol and involve the community in the application of the health protocol rules, we feel responsible, we are called because the event mobilized a large number of people, “Dudung said during a press conference in Kodam Jaya, Cawang, East Jakarta, on Thursday (01/10/2020).
The Antara report states that the chronology of the incident began when 150 people from the retired National Sovereignty Guard arrived at the Kalibata TMP at around 3 pm WIB.
Although they did not have the permission of the relevant authorities, the security forces on duty at the scene urged the masses to comply with health protocols to keep their distance and not crowd.
“However, the masses of PPKN still insist on going on pilgrimages. Our tolerance for retired officers is very wide even though they do not have permission from the Ministry of Social Affairs. But because these retirees are also our elders who they have a lot of service to this nation, they are welcome to make pilgrimages keeping the health protocol, “he said.
“Retired officers are welcome to make pilgrimages, but they still maintain health protocols with 30 people each and can make pilgrimages,” added Dudung.
However, unexpectedly, there were some people who took advantage of this situation to declare and address the policy problems of the current government.
“There is a statement that supports us and touches on current government policy issues,” he said.
The South Jakarta police chief, Commander Mr. Budi Sartono, who was in the field at the time, has not attracted more than five people according to health protocols in Jakarta.
“Furthermore, these retired men are over 60 years old, they are very vulnerable and have the potential to create new clusters (Covid-19),” he said.
However, the South Jakarta police chief’s appeal at the time was ignored and the retired officers still grouped together and testified.
Ucu Yustiana, Dudung said, repeatedly apologized that no statement caused a large crowd.
“The Dandim apologized, repeated many times but it was still implemented, so there was a bit of a commotion, but we can control it,” he said.
Even the Pangdam Jaya had requested confirmation about this activity from the President General of the Warakawuri Association of the Indonesian Armed Forces of TNI and the Polri General TNI (ret) Agum Gumelar, apparently there was no coordination with Pepabri.
“We also hope that we also pray not to be contaminated with current problems, which in turn will make this retired officer a bad name,” he said.
