COVID-19 Management Working Group spokesperson Prof. Wiku Adisasmito announced that several provinces in Indonesia are experiencing an increase in the number of cases on a weekly basis. This addition was observed in the period from September 14 to 20 and compared to the period from September 21 to 27, 2020.
“Nationwide, there are 20 provinces with an increase in cases compared to the previous week. The province with the highest increase in cases is West Java,” Professor Wiku said at a press conference on YouTube’s Presidential Secretariat, the Thursday (01/10/2020).
On this day, 4,174 new cases were registered, bringing the total to 291,1832. The number of cured cases also increased by 3,540 and 116 deaths.
Here are 20 provinces that saw an increase in the number of cases on a weekly basis.
1. West Java: 1,726 cases
2. DKI Jakarta: 1,002 cases
3. East Kalimantan: 584 cases
4. West Sumatra: 573 cases
5. Central Java: 338 cases
6. Riau Islands: 303 cases
7. Southeast Sulawesi: 265 cases
8. Bali: 263 cases
9. Papua: 136 cases
10. South Sumatra: 123 cases
11. Banten: 123 cases
12. West Papua: 86 cases
13. West Sulawesi: 79 cases
14. North Kalimantan: 60 cases
15. Bengkulu: 39 cases
16. Maluku: 29 cases
17. Gorontalo: 16 cases
18. South Kalimantan: 9 cases
19. Central Sulawesi: 6 cases
20 West Nusa Tenggara: 2 cases
“We ask you to press a little more so that in the next week there really are no additional cases, in fact there will be a decrease in the set of cases,” he concluded.
