JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The electricity rate for the 7 groups of PT PLN (Persero) officially lowered today Thursday (01/10/2020). This is in accordance with the basic electricity tariff provisions issued by the government.

From October to December 2020, the electricity tariff for low-class customers was reduced by Rs 22.5 per kWh to Rs 1,444.7 per kWh from Rs 1,467 per kWh.

So can prepaid customers or electricity token users feel the reduction in electricity rates?

Kompas.com tried to compare the amount of kWh earned from purchasing tokens last September and purchases today, with a nominal transaction of 100,000 IDR.

Last September, with the purchase of a 100,000 rupee electricity token, Kompas.com received an electricity voltage of 63.2 kWh.

Assuming the electricity tariff was 1467 IDR per kWh last September, for a nominal token purchase of 100,000 IDR, the customer should have received 68.1 kWh of energy.

However, with other costs, ranging from Public Lighting Tax (PPJ) to stamp duty, the electricity obtained is 63.2 kWh.

Meanwhile, in October, with the purchase of a 100,000 rupee token, Kompas.com received a power voltage of 64.1 kWh.

Thus, there is an increase in the voltage received after the reduction in electricity rates starting today.

“We hope we can ease the economic burden a bit during the pandemic,” he said.
