Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The government is trying to introduce a Covid-19 vaccine as soon as possible and start a vaccination program. So who is the first person to get the vaccine?

Health Minister Terawan Agus Putranto said that priority will be given to vaccines on the front line, that is, all medical personnel and all people working in medical facilities.

“Then it will be handed over to the public in the high-risk category, that is, workers aged 18 to 59,” Terawan was quoted as saying on the Communication Ministry’s website on Thursday (1/10/2020).

So far, according to Health Minister Terawan, the need for vaccination has reached 320 million doses. The supply of this vaccine is carried out together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of BUMN, the Head of BOPM and the Head of BNPB.

BUMN Deputy Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin explained that currently the vaccine storage capacity owned by state-owned companies has reached 123 million vaccines. Therefore, it is cooperating between state companies, in particular by Bio Farma and Kimia Farma as drug producers, in the acquisition of an Inventory of Cold Chain Equipment of up to 300 million vaccines.

The Cold Chain Acquisition is prepared for the arrival of vaccines from several countries that have assisted Indonesia in the acquisition of these vaccines.

For your information, Indonesia has currently committed to procuring Sinovac Biotech and G42 vaccines from Abu Dhabi. The government is also aggressively reaching out and exploring cooperation with other vaccine companies.
