Meanwhile, the four regions that were included in the top five of the largest increases in cases were DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,002 cases, East Kalimantan with an increase of 584 cases, West Sumatra with an increase of 603 cases and Central Java with an increase of 338 cases.
Wiku explained that the four provinces last week were not included in the five provinces with the highest increase in cases. This means that all four regions experienced a significant increase in cases.

Wiku explained that, nationally, positive cases in Indonesia during the last week had increased by 16.4 percent compared to the previous week. Last week, the number of positive cases in Indonesia was 26,314 and increased to 30,641 cases.
For the five provinces that experienced a significant increase in cases, three of them are included in the government’s priority. These areas are West Java, Jakarta, and Central Java.
The cumulative number of positive Covid-19 cases in Indonesia as of Tuesday (9/29) reached 282,724 people. Of these, 210,437 were declared cured and 10,601 people died.
