Armenia threatens Russian Iskander missiles, this is Azerbaijan’s response

YEREVANArmenia threatened to deploy a Russian-made Iskander-M missile system to attack Azerbaijan in war in Nagorno-Karabakh. The weapon will be operational if Turkey begins using US-made F-16 fighter jets to defend Azerbaijan.

“Unfortunately, anything can be expected from Armenia. It is difficult for me to comment from a military point of view, what response will be given … I am sure that the Azerbaijani troops have an adequate response,” said the minister, when asked. He asked about his country’s response if Armenia used the Russian-made missile system.

The threat of using the Iskander-M missile system was previously raised by the Armenian ambassador to Russia, Vardan Toganyan, in an interview with the news agency. “The military leadership has repeatedly stated that if the Damocles sword in the form of a Turkish F-16 looms over the people of Nagorno-Karabakh, all measures will be taken, including Iskander. This means that the Armed Forces of Armenia must use all their weapons to guarantee security, ”Toganyan threatened.

The Armenian side claims that 4,000 militants are fighting on the side of Azerbaijan, which Turkey has withdrawn from Syria. However, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan played down the claims.
