Wasmad Named Suspect After Detaining Dangdutan Amid Pandemic

TEGAL – Tegal City DPRD Vice President Wasmad Edi Susilo (WES) was ultimately named a suspect. The decision was made after Wasmad held a celebration party with dangdut entertainment at South Tegal Field last Wednesday (9/23/2020).

“We have named the suspect in the report on behalf of WES,” Tegal City Police Chief AKBP Rita Wulandari Wibowo said at a news conference at Tegal City Police Headquarters on Monday ( 9/28/2020).

“On the basis of that report we carried out a series of investigative efforts, then after sufficient initial testing, we escalated it to an investigation,” the police chief said.

The modus operandi, said the Chief of Police, was that Wasmad held a wedding and circumcision celebration inviting guests with an entertainment attended by thousands of people regardless of health protocols. And without paying attention to the warnings given by authorized officials.

His party has requested information from at least 15 witnesses and several expert statements.

“From the results of the investigation and the carrying out of a series of attempts to question 15 witnesses, and several experts, there are criminal experts, health experts and linguists,” said the Chief of Police.

His party also obtained at least 7 tests. Starting with a cover letter to the RT, an introduction to the sub-district, a statement signed by WES, a permit issued by the police, up to 1 DVD containing a video recording describing the course of the event.

Wasmad is a suspect in Article 93 of Law No. 6 of 2018 on Jo’s Health Care. Article 216 paragraph 1 Penal Code Jo. Article 65 Paragraph 1 of the Penal Code with the threat of a maximum of one year in prison.

Although he was named a suspect, WES was not detained. You will only be subject to mandatory reporting while you wait for the ongoing legal process.
