SURABAYA, KOMPAS.TV – Former TNI commander Gatot Nurmantyo spoke in response to the protest against the Grand Gathering of the Coalition for Action to Save Indonesia (WE) in Surabaya, East Java (East Java), on Monday (9/28 / 2020).

Gatot Nurmantyo accused the masses who held the demonstration and confronted them with being paid mobs.

“We pray that the protesters will return home safely and bring the minimum amount of money for their families. Then OUR existence will be a blessing to them,” he said at the Assalam Purimas Gununganyar mosque in Surabaya on Monday afternoon.

Not only that, Gatot also admitted that he was grateful if there were people who could financially take advantage of his presence.

“In such difficult conditions, we should be grateful that our colleagues have held a demonstration because of our presence. The demonstration is paid,” he explained as quoted in Kompas.com.

If necessary, Gatot continued, there would be more demonstrations for more people to receive blessings. “So don’t be scolded if they demonstrate,” he explained.
