Mourinho: son injured hamstring

Son Heung-min only appeared in one round at Tottenham Hotspur against Newcastle United. José Mourinho revealed the reason why Son only played 45 minutes.

Tottenham host Newcastle on the third weekend of the Premier League. Competing at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (9/27/2020) WIB night, the hosts were forced to draw 1-1.

Lucas Moura gave Tottenham the lead through his goal in the 25th minute. Callum Wilson’s penalty in injury time ruined Tottenham’s victory.

After playing brilliantly by scoring four goals in the game against Southampton last week, Son only played one round in the game against Newcastle. The South Korean player was retired at half-time and replaced by Steven Bergwijn.

José Mourinho revealed that Son had an injury. The Portuguese coach said Son had a problem with his hamstrings.

“It’s an injury. He’ll be out for a while. His hamstring,” Mourinho was quoted as saying. Sky sports.

At the start of the season, Mourinho highlighted the tight schedule Tottenham had to go through in three competitions at once. Mourinho won’t be surprised if other players follow Son into the treatment room.

“This is just the first. I imagine that on Tuesday there will be more (injured), on Thursday there will be more, and perhaps on Sunday some more players,” Mourinho said.

Son Heung-min is expected to miss out when Tottenham face Chelsea in the round of 16 of the Premier League Cup on Tuesday (09/29/2020). He is also set to miss the play-off match against Maccabi Haifa in the Europa League on Thursday (10/1/2020) and face Manchester United in the Premier League next week.
