Forlán is happy to see his compatriot near the Wanda Metropolitano.
Luis Suare is not the first player to be forced to leave Barcelona, said Diego Forlán, who admits to being delighted to see his compatriot fall into the arms of Atlético de Madrid.
The arrival of Ronald Koeman caused the legendary forward to leave the Camp Nou. This transfer decision was quite swift after the Dutch tactician declared that the forward was no longer included in the club’s long-term plans.
Suarez said an emotional farewell as Messi and Rivaldo criticized the club’s decision.
Although Suárez had a great record during his time with Barça, Forlán said he was not surprised to see the star player being abandoned from Camp Nou.
“What the club has done to Suárez has already happened before,” he said on Radio MARCA.
“The most important thing is that Suárez has given his best for Barcelona. Suárez leaves no regrets.”
Forlán wished Suárez the best for Wanda Metropolitano by saying: “A player like Suárez is fit for a club like Atleti.”
“I thought it would feel like home.”
“I hope it can help the team compete towards the LaLiga championship ladder.”
“Luis Suárez, Joao Félix and Diego Costa can create a deadly trio for Atlético de Madrid.”
