Brighton –
Brighton & Hove Albion had to experience a dramatic loss to Manchester United in the Premier League. The goddess of fortune was not on Brighton’s side.
An exciting duel was featured at the Brighton vs MU match held at the Amex Stadium in the third week of the Premier League on Saturday (9/26/2020). The two teams exchanged goals until the final minutes of the match.
Brighton had the lead through Neal Maupay before Lewis Dunk scored an own goal that benefited MU. Behind behind after Marcus Rashford scored, Solomon March scored a goal in the 90 + 5 minute to change the score to 2-2.
The Wasiit then blew the final whistle shortly after Harry Maguire’s header in the 90 + 7 minute failed to produce a goal for MU. The drama then happened because MU players claimed that Maguire’s header hit Maupay’s hand.
The referee then verified the VAR and sanctioned MU. Bruno Fernandes successfully converted the penalty into a goal and led the Red Devils to a 3-2 win.
“Unbelievable, it feels indescribable, we were better today. We deserved at least one point, it’s a shame,” said Brighton winger Leandro Trossard. BBC Sport.
“Five minutes were added and we played at least seven minutes. Sometimes it’s just not your day.”
Losing to MU, Brighton seemed unlucky. There were at least five shots from Brighton hitting the post in the game against United.
Leandro Trossad himself had to face the fact that his shot was deflected by the crossbar three times. choose Trossad matched Cristiano Ronaldo, who also experienced something similar in 2006 against Newcastle United.
“We had a lot of chances and losing like that is the worst feeling you can have in a game. Today we played very well,” Trossad said.
“An unfortunate day, the ball does not go in. We have to get the positive side of this game. Going to receive penalties is always difficult, very hard,” he said.
