BARCELONA – Petronas Yamaha SRT Team rider Franco Morbidelli won the 2020 Catalunya MotoGP pole position after being the fastest in the qualifying session that took place on Saturday (9/26/2020) in the WIB afternoon. The pole position is also very special for Morbidelli, of course.
Because for the first time since joining the MotoGP class in 2018, Morbidelli also won pole position in a series of races. That is what makes the results of the Catalunya MotoGP 2020 qualifying very special for the Italian rider.
Following in Morbidelli’s footsteps, Fabio Quartararo managed to become the second fastest rider in the 2020 Catalunya MotoGP classification. The rider who is also part of the Petronas Yamaha SRT was able to prove that the YZR-M1 motorcycle was the best in the Circuit Catalunya, Spain.

Yes, Yamaha really shows that their bike is very good when riding at the Circuit de Catalunya. Because in addition to Morbidelli and Quartararo, there is one more Yamaha rider occupying the first three rows for the subsequent race, on Sunday, September 27, 2020.
The rider who occupies the third position is Valentino Rossi. The Monster Energy Yamaha rider closed the preparation for Catalunya MotoGP 2020 magnificently very well. With these facts, Yamaha really controls the front line of the Catalunya GP race.
So what about another Yamaha rider, namely Maverick Vinales? Viñales, who appeared faster in the fourth free practice session, was a bit slow in qualifying.
It was pointed out that Viñales could only be the fifth fastest rider in the qualifying session. Viñales continues to lose quickly to Jack Miller (Pramac Ducati), who is in fourth position as a result of the qualifying session.
