KOMPAS.com – A family of three beggars was hit by a car driven by a woman in Jalan Terusan Situ Gede, behind the Cikurubuk market, Tasikmalaya city, on Friday (9/25/2020).
The head of the Accident Unit of the Tasikmalaya Police Traffic Unit, Ipda Zezen Zaenal Mutaqin, explained that the accident started when a white KIA car with police number D 1807 BM arrived from the Cikurubuk intersection towards Jalan Canal Situ Gede.

Passing the road a bit uphill, the car suddenly veered to the left of the road and struck the victims who were sitting on the edge of the road under a tree.
“The victim allegedly hit her head on a car that stopped immediately after hitting a large tree,” Zezen said at the scene on Friday (9/25/2020).

The body of the victim, Dede Esti (40) has been transferred to the morgue of the Soekardjo Hospital.
Meanwhile, the other two victims who were injured received treatment in the emergency room.
The car that was severely damaged at the front was secured at the Tasikmalaya Police Headquarters.
Dede’s husband, Ujang Iwan Gunawan, said that according to information from local residents, when the accident happened, his family was sitting on a carpet on the side of the road.
“I heard from residents there that my wife was sitting on the side of the road holding a mat with her brother and daughter,” Ujang said.
