SEMARANG, KOMPAS.com – Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo immediately contacted Tegal City Mayor Dedy Yon Supriyono after learning that a dangdut concert had sparked a crowd of residents.
According to Ganjar, Dedy was unaware that the wedding and circumcision ceremony held by a member of the Tegal City Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) lasted into the night.
Dedy also apologized to Ganjar because it was feared that the crowd was a source of transmission of the corona virus.

In response to the apology, the governor, who is also a politician with the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), only asked for restrictions on crowds while the outbreak had not abated.
“I’m just saying, this requires sensitivity on the part of the leader. If it can be limited, we don’t prohibit it. Let’s adapt. But if so, go crazy and ignore it, then we are irresponsible. The mayor apologized to me.” Ganjar said in his office, Semarang, on Thursday (9/24/2020).
Ganjar stressed that he does not prohibit residents from holding weddings or other celebrations.
