JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan claims that the active case of Covid-19 has been reduced during the implementation of volume two of large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) or tightening.
“At the coordination meeting on the anticipation of the development of the Covid-19 case in Jabodetabek, the Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investments (Marives) showed data that DKI Jakarta was pending and under control,” Anies said in a written statement , on Thursday (9/24/2020).

Meanwhile, when the PSBB was implemented or the following 12 days in September, the increase in the number of active cases decreased to 12 percent or 1,453 cases.
Still, according to Anies, basing the active Covid-19 case was not the primary goal of implementing the PSBB.
The DKI provincial government and residents have yet to limit activities to reduce the spread of Covid-19 in the capital city.
“Basing the active case chart is not the end goal. We still have to work together to break the chain of transmission. The government continues to increase 3Q and residents must stay home first, travel only when necessary and implement 3M,” Anies said.
Anies decided to extend the implementation of large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) for two weeks, from September 28 to October 11, 2020.

The extension of the PSBB period is stipulated in the Decree of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Province Number 959 of 2020.
Anies said that the PSBB spread again because the number of positive Covid-19 cases has the potential to increase again if the PSBB relaxes.
