By helicopter, KPK President Firli Bahuri is declared to have violated the Code of Ethics

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) declared that the president of KPK, Firli Bahuri, was guilty of violating the code of ethics regarding a luxurious lifestyle.

“At the trial, declaring the suspect proven guilty of violating the code of ethics and the code of conduct,” said KPK Supervisory Board Chairman Tumpak Panggabean, reading the verdict at the trial that was relayed through of transmission media, Thursday (9/24/2020).

The KPK Supervisory Board assessed that Firli had not fulfilled his obligation to realize that all his attitudes and actions were always inherent in his capacity as KPK personnel.

It is also considered that Firli does not show an exemplary action in the daily behavior as regulated in Article 4 Paragraph (1) letter n and Article 8 Paragraph (1) letter f KPK Supervisory Board Regulation Number: 02 of 2020 relative to the application of the KPK Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct.

For this violation, the KPK Supervisory Board imposed a light sanction in the form of a written warning 2 on Firli.

“Punish the investigator with a light penalty in the form of a written warning 2, so that the investigator does not repeat his actions and be examined as the President of the Commission for the Eradication of Corruption to always maintain his attitude and behavior obeying the stipulated prohibitions and obligations in the Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct of the Commission for the Eradication of Corruption, “said Tumpak.

MAKI complained about Firli Bahuri to the KPK Supervisory Board because it was considered that she had violated the ethics related to a luxurious lifestyle.

At the time, Firli used a helicopter belonging to a private company on Firli’s private trip from Palembang to Baturaja.
