The head of the Bandung Meteorology, Climatology and Geosphysics Agency (BMKG), Toni Agus Wijaya, explained, based on the results of the BMKG analysis, that the rains in several places in the Bogor and Sukabumi areas experienced moderate to moderate rainfall. Very strong.

The intensity of rainfall reaches 24.6 millimeters – 110 millimeters.

In the satellite image of Himawari on September 21, 2020, at 0600 WIB, the growth of convective cloud cells (rain-producing clouds) was observed in the Sukabumi area.

Then, at 14.30 WIB, the clouds began to move and grow in the Bogor and Sukabumi areas.

“Significant convective clouds continue to expand towards the Bogor and Sukabumi areas until they are complete at night at 9:00 pm WIB,” Toni told reporters on Tuesday (9/22/2020).

The results of the radar images show that at 2:00 p.m. WIB there was a growth of convective clouds in the West Java region, particularly in Bogor and Sukabumi.

“CB-shaped convective clouds form very quickly and intensely, as seen in the high and maximum reflectivity values ​​in the area with a value of 50 dBZ at 15:32 WIB,” said Toni.

Thus, BMKG concluded that, based on the 3000ft wind distribution pattern on September 21, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. WIB, generally the winds that pass through the West Java region from northeast to southeast.

The TC Dolphin (996 hpa) exists and the low pressure around Philippine waters forms a cyclonic circulation pattern, an area of ​​wind confluence (convergence), and significant wind curves along the Karimata Strait towards West Java.
