Liverpool –
Thiago Alcantara has officially become a Liverpool player. The Reds has completed the transfer of Thiago from Bayern Munich.
Through their official website, Liverpool announced the transfer of Thiago, on Friday afternoon (9/18/2020) to the WIB. Liverpool tied the 29-year-old midfielder on a four-year contract.
Liverpool did not mention in detail the value of the Thiago transfer. However, reports are circulating that they believe Liverpool compensated the former Barcelona player for £ 20 million.
“It is an extraordinary feeling. I have waited for this moment for a long time and I am very, very happy to be here,” Thiago said on the club’s official website.
“Over the years you try to get as many victories as possible and when you are champion, you want more.”
“I think this club also describes myself. I want to achieve all the goals, win as many trophies as possible,” said the Spaniard.
Thiago joins Liverpool after spending the last seven years with Bayern Munich. He helped Bayern organize the winning triplets for the 2019/2020 season.
During seven seasons at Bayern, Thiago won a total of 16 titles. He played 235 games for Bayern, contributing 31 goals and 35 assists.
The arrival of Thiago Alcantara puts an end to speculation over whether Liverpool will buy star players in the transfer market this summer. Before signing Thiago, Liverpool had just signed a Greek left-back, Kostas Tsimikas. Thiago will wear jersey number 6 in Liverpool.
