Indonesian KPU President Arief Budiman is Covid-19 Positive

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The president of the General Electoral Commission (KPU) Arief Budiman was confirmed positive for Covid-19.

This was discovered after Arief underwent a PCR test or swab test on Thursday (9/17/2020).

“On the night of September 17 we did the test swab to be used as a condition to attend a meeting at the Bogor Palace on September 18 with positive results, “said Arief through a short message received. Kompas.com, Friday (9/18/2020).

“Attendance at the next meeting is represented by KPU members,” he said.

Arief said that from the early morning of Sept. 18 until now, he has been isolating himself at home.

Despite being confirmed positive for Covid-19, Arief did not experience any symptoms such as a cough, runny nose, fever, or shortness of breath.

On the morning of September 18, everyone in the KPU official residence also made swab test, including Arief himself conducted a new test.

The KPU also implements policies Work from home for all employees from September 18-22.

In addition, sterilization will be carried out for all areas of homes and official offices starting tomorrow, September 19.

“I continue to carry out my duties through the WFH, online,” Arief said.

Arief also asked for prayers so that he could recover quickly and be healthy again.
