JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The number of patients who tested positive for the coronavirus (Covid-19) from Tuesday (9/15/2020) to Wednesday (9/16/2020) increased by 3,963 people.
Therefore, the total number of Covid-19 positive patients is now 228,993 people since the first Covid-19 case was announced on March 2.
This information was transmitted by the Working Group for the Management of Covid-19 through the National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB), quoted by Kompas.com, on Wednesday afternoon.
Based on the same data, new cases of patients with positive confirmation of Covid-19 are distributed in 34 provinces. Five provinces with the highest number of new cases were registered.

The five DKI provinces are Jakarta (1,294 new cases), East Java (372 new cases), Central Java (340 new cases), West Java (293 new cases) and East Kalimantan (217 new cases).
Meanwhile, the general transmission of Covid-19 has so far occurred in 493 districts / cities of 34 provinces.
The additional cases were discovered after the government examined 39,774 specimens a day.
At the same time, 30,713 people were sampled for sample examination.

Thus, the government in total has examined 2,755,120 specimens from 1,622,769 people sampled.
A person can have the sample examined more than once.
Furthermore, the same data also shows that there were 3,036 patients recovered from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
Therefore, the total number of patients who recovered from Covid-19 was 164,101 people.
However, the number of patients who died also increased by 135 people. So the total number of patients who died due to Covid-19 now stands at 9,100 people.
