The head of the Lampung Regional Police Public Relations Division, Kombes Zahwani Pandra Arsyad, said that after a question and answer session, the psychiatric team declared that the suspect did not have a mental disorder.

“The suspect can answer the questions of a psychiatrist. So the suspect is still conscious,” Pandra said when contacted on Wednesday (9/16/2020).

AA was already in custody after being arrested for stabbing Sheikh Ali Jaber.

The incident occurred when the cleric attended Tahfidz Al-Quran’s graduation at the Falahudin Mosque, Lampung, on Sunday afternoon (9/13/2020).

Pandra said the examination also revealed that the AA suspect stabbed Sheikh Ali Jaber because he was depressed by the clergyman’s voice.

Suspect AA admitted that he was nervous to hear Sheikh Ali Jaber’s voice, which at the time was heard from his home.

“The suspect admitted to being anxious about Sheikh Ali Jaber’s voice and went directly to the scene, then stabbed the victim,” Pandra said.

However, according to Pandra, this was only based on the suspect’s confession.

“We are still investigating this case,” Pandra said.

As is known, Syekh Ali Jaber experienced the attack while on stage.

A young man suddenly walked up to him and stabbed Sheikh Ali Jaber with a kitchen knife.

As a result of the stabbing, Sheikh Ali Jaber suffered a stab wound to the right shoulder.
