Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

President Joko widodo ordered the Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investments Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan and BNPB director Doni Monardo dropped the case COVID-19 in nine provinces in two weeks.

The nine DKI provinces are Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, South Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, Bali, North Sumatra, and Papua.

Jokowi called for the number of daily cases and the death rate to be reduced, while the cure rate is increased.

“The president ordered that within two weeks we must be able to achieve three goals, namely, a reduction in the addition of daily cases, an increase recovery rate, and decline mortality rate“Luhut said in a virtual coordination meeting through a written statement on the official website of the Marves Coordinating Ministry, on Tuesday (9/15).

Luhut explained that Jokowi’s order to focus on managing Covid-19 was based on conditions in eight of the nine provinces that accounted for 75 percent of total cases or 68 percent of total active cases.

DKI is known to be the province with the highest number of positive Covid-19 cases. The latest data records that there are 55,099 positive cases of Covid-19 in Jakarta, with 42,245 recovered and 1,418 deaths.

To achieve the three objectives for the management of covid-19 in the nine provinces, Luhut developed three strategies, namely, justisi surgery, better management of the care of the covid-19 patient, and specific management of the transmission groups in each Province. It is considered necessary that justice operations be applied to repress offenders who do not comply with health protocols.

“We have a justified operation to enforce the implementation of the health protocol. If we do not take tough measures against offenders, if we want the PSBB to go up to 10 times, the condition will not improve immediately,” he said.

Under the plan, Luhut will hold a technical meeting with all the provinces to detail the strategy to handle Covid-19 within the next two days.

“I ask each province to sharpen its strategy, it has to be clear about the distribution of tasks who does what and us to deploy all the resources we have, “he said.

Meanwhile, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD, advised the regional heads to immediately change the Governor’s Rules (Pergub), the Regent Rules (Perbup) and the Mayor’s Rules (Perwali) so that become Regional Regulations (Perda) so that the police can apply sanctions. criminal operation in justisi. Currently, he said, only two Pergubs have been switched to Perda.

“Operation Justisi is related to the application of criminal law. Meanwhile, according to the law, Pergub, Perbup or Perwali cannot contain criminal sanctions,” he explained.

However, Mahfud said, the police could still take action against criminals by referring to Law Number 4 of 1984 on Outbreaks of Infectious Diseases. Under the law, the police can prosecute offenders with the threat of imprisonment of up to one year or a fine of up to 1 million rupees.

“Suppose the police want to execute a criminal sentence outside of Pergub, it is still possible, for example, using the Law of Outbreaks of Communicable Diseases,” he said.

According to data from September 14, 2020, the number of positive cases of Covid-19 has reached 221,523, with 158,405 declared cured and 8,841 people dead.
