Jakarta –
Nine years after his debut for Tottenham Hotspur’s first team, Harry Kane has won nothing. Chasing what, Kane?
Harry Kane made his debut for Tottenham’s first team on August 25, 2011. He did not immediately gain trust and was loaned to Millwall, Norwich City and Leicester City.
It was only in 2014/2015 that the Arsenal-educated forward had his first full season with Tottenham. Kane scored 31 goals that season and has been consistently in the net ever since.
Kane has been practically Tottenham’s scoring machine to date. Since the 2014/2015 season, he has never failed to score 20 goals per season. Out of a total of 188 goals during his career with Tottenham, 183 of them were made in that period.
Unfortunately, those goals weren’t enough to lead him to win trophies. His best achievements are the 2014/2015 English League Cup runner-up and the 2018/2019 Champions League.
Kane was rumored to leave last year, following “signs” that opened up offers from other clubs. But in the end he survived and his contract would only expire in 2024.
Now 27, entering the golden age of footballers, there is a big question mark for Kane. How long do you feel at home at Tottenham, which is not competitive?
“I’m probably Harry Kane’s biggest fan after his mom and dad. I looked at him and thought ‘What are you going to win at Tottenham?’ He’s one of the best at scoring goals, “said former Arsenal player Paul Merson in his column on Sky sports.
“But he scores 30 goals a season and he doesn’t have a chance to win trophies, so what’s the use of being there?” added.
Kane appeared in Tottenham’s opening game this season against Everton at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (9/13/2020) in the Premier League event. He and his teammates had to agree to start the season with a 0-1 loss.
