TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Chief of the National Police, General Idham Azis, instructed the change of citizens to uniform security units (security guards). If originally the security guard uniform was white for morning service and dark blue for night service, it will be changed to brown.

“According to the Regulation of the Chief of the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia Number 4 of 2020 concerning self-protection, that there is a change in the color of the security guard’s uniform,” said the Chief of the Public Information Office from the Public Relations Division of the Police Headquarters, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, in his office in South Jakarta on Monday, September 14, 2020..

Awi said there would be five official garments for security guards and ranks. The National Police also announced at the latest the announcement of this change to all agencies to change the uniform of the security guard on duty.

“The security management system for company organizations and / or government agencies can still be used and must comply with this police regulation no later than one year after the promulgation of this police regulation,” Awi said.

According to Awi, the choice of the brown color for the security guard uniform aims to create an emotional closeness between the Police and the security guard. Additionally, with the new uniform color, security guards take pride in performing limited policing functions. “Glorify the profession of security guard and enhance policing in the community,” Awi said.
