Peter Gontha’s post went viral. As of this writing, the post about Budi Hartono’s letter had been liked by 2,765 netizens and had received 157 comments.
In the letter, Budi Hartono said he wanted to give his opinion on DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan’s plan to impose the PSBB on Monday, September 14, 2020.
Previously, Anies said that the PSBB was strengthened due to the increasing number of positive Covid-19 cases in DKI Jakarta and that the capacity of hospitals in DKI Jakarta would reach its maximum capacity in the short term.
“In Jakarta, even though the DKI Jakarta government has implemented the PSBB, the growth rate of the infection continues to increase. (Evidence attached: Jakarta B-DKI Chart),” Budi Hartono said in the letter.
As for the capacity of DKI Jakarta hospitals, they will still reach their maximum capacity with or without applying the PSBB, according to Budi Hartono, because the regional or central government must continue to prepare separate isolation areas to handle the increase in cases.
He then suggested that the Indonesian government imitate Singapore by building an emergency hospital in Port Singapore. The hospital was built with air-conditioned isolation containers to anticipate an increase in cases requiring medical treatment.
