KOMPAS.com – Because he was asked to return the key to the mosque’s charity box, M (49) had the heart to hack into the mosque imam while praying maghrib, on Friday (11/9/2020).

As a result, the imam of the mosque named Muhammad Arif, a resident of Tanjung Rancing Village, Kayuagung District, Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI), South Sumatra, was injured in the face.

According to the victims ‘relatives, the assailants were actually the victims’ partners.

Based on the information obtained, it is suspected that the perpetrator was injured because the victim requested the key to the charity box from the treasurer of the mosque.

“I was not expecting what happened to my brother-in-law. I am here to make a report,” said Efrohayati, a relative of the victim at the Kayuagung police headquarters.

The attack was videotaped and viral on social media. From the information obtained, the victim was attacked while leading the evening prayer.

The ASN retiree was injured in the face. Nearby residents immediately took the victim to a hospital in Palembang.

Meanwhile, after stabbing the victim, M ran into one of the residents’ houses. However, the perpetrator was successfully secured by TNI personnel with the help of residents.

To avoid the mob tantrum, the police immediately took the perpetrator to Kayuagung Police Headquarters.

According to information from the Chief of Police, Ogan Komering Ilir AKBP Alamsyah Pelupessy, the author has currently been seized and is under investigation.

Furthermore, both the perpetrator and the victim were known to be close friends. The perpetrators who work as construction workers often drive their brother’s vehicle when they go somewhere.
