MANAMABahrain finally normalize relations with Israel, Saturday (12/09/2020). The move makes it the fourth Arab country after the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Egypt and Jordan to recognize Israel since its founding in 1948.

Bahrain’s diplomatic maneuvers add to the anger of the Palestinians who feel that their fight against the Israeli occupation regime has been betrayed. The Palestinians have previously been angry at similar moves previously made by the UAE.

The following is a brief description of four Arab countries that have been in Israel’s “arms” after normalizing relations.

1. Bahrain

Bahrain, like most Arab countries, has previously refused to recognize Israel as a state. However, their animosity is now thawing, and the two countries agreed to fully normalize the relationship announced on Saturday (12/09/2020). “Israel is part of the legacy of this entire region, historically. Therefore, the Jewish people have a place among us,” Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa said. Reuters.

The general threat from Iran has provided common ground to unfreeze once strained relations. However, Bahrain’s political policies have traditionally supported the creation of an independent Palestinian state.

2. United Arab Emirates
