KOMPAS.com – An RRI Nunukan technician named Roby was amazed to help find his partner’s fishing spot using the Google Maps facility.
The reason is that, from the satellite photo, a giant crocodile was found in the waters of Mansapa, Nunukan.
Curious about the capture of the satellite photo, then he enlarged it. Until he finally thought strongly that the photo was of a crocodile.
In the screenshot, according to him, two objects were found. First it is a crocodile and second it is a fishing boat.
“I zoom twice, the image is very clear, there is a muzzle, body, legs to the tail, I immediately thought about how to determine the size,” said Roby when he met with Kompas.com, on Friday (11/09/2020 ).

After taking action with the menu available in the app, he was even more surprised.
Therefore, the crocodile is known to be 15 meters long and 2.5 meters wide.
In the satellite photo it is also known that the giant crocodile is facing the fishing boat.
“We measure the distance in the Google Maps menu, the shape is clear, there is a snout, body and tail, but the size is not reasonable, the size of a crocodile is much larger than a passing fishing boat. The boat measures only 12 meters, it is still a long crocodile, 3 another meter, “he explained.
“Finally, when I showed the sighting, all my friends looked and looked for the size, the one that came out was still 15 meters long by 2.5 meters wide, finally the fishing schedule was canceled,” he said again.

Concerned about the findings, he took the initiative to ask Google for an explanation about capturing the satellite photo.
When sending the message, his group also included a link to satellite photo shots with the coordinates.

“We know that satellite photos are updated every 3 months, I ask, when was the last time a satellite photo was taken for the North Kalimantan area? There is an image of a crocodile 15 meters long and 2.5 meters wide in the water, “Roby wrote in the letter.
But sadly, so far there has been no response from Google regarding the message sent.
“There has been no response, but nevertheless a warning is needed for the community, which is where fishermen most often look for fish and fishermen,” said Roby.

After uploading it, it is known to immediately become a hot topic of conversation in the community. The reason is that the size of the giant crocodile is considered unnatural.
“I immediately uploaded it to social media, regardless of whether the precision was 15 meters long and 2.5 meters wide, but its existence is very dangerous, because the waters are fishing grounds and fishermen look for fish,” said Ilham Zain .
“As a warning, hopefully there are no unwanted things. What is clear is that the crocodile is in the waters, the name of the waters of Mansapa, and in fact the waters there are the habitat of the crocodiles ”, he explained.
