NUNUKAN, KOMPAS.TV – A giant crocodile believed to be 15 meters long and 2.5 meters wide was captured on a Google Maps screen in the waters of Mansapa, Nunukan, North Kalimantan. Suddenly, this caused the Nunukan community to go into an uproar.

The excitement began with a resident, Ilham Zein, uploading to his Facebook social media.

According to him, the presence of crocodiles in the waters of Nunukan is very dangerous for the community. Because in these waters there are many community activities.

“I immediately uploaded it to social media, regardless of whether the accuracy was 15 meters long and 2.5 meters wide, but its existence was very dangerous,” Ilham said on Friday (11/9/2020), quoted at Kompas.com.

The purpose of uploading them to social networks is a warning to residents who are active in these waters, so that unwanted things do not happen. I knew these waters were crocodile habitat.

Ilham was not the one who discovered the large crocodile in the waters of Mansapa, but RRI Nunukan technician Roby.

When they met, Roby recognized the discovery of a large crocodile photo on Google Maps himself. Roby said it all started when he was looking for a fishing spot for RRI New Media Engineering (TMB) Section Chief Nunukan Syafri Razak, who wanted to channel his hobby, two weeks ago.
