Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The provincial government of DKI Jakarta will implement a full PSBB from September 14, 2020. So how long will the full PSBB take place in the capital?
DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said the total PSBB could last more than two weeks if there was no reduction in corona cases in Jakarta.
“I want to emphasize, do not expect that after two weeks, it will be over. No. But if this incredible speed is not taken, there are steps to reduce the speed, yes, this will continue,” Anies was quoted by CNNIndonesia, on Saturday (12 / 9/2020).
Anies added that it is important to do the total PSBB and hopes that for the next two weeks residents will stay home to reduce the potential for transmission of Covid-19.
“That is why this adjustment is important so that we are home first for the last two weeks. By being home first, the hope is that this transmission potential can be suppressed,” he said.
Anies explained that the spread of Covid-19 in Jakarta in early September was quite alarming. Data from the health office as of August 30, there were 7,960 active cases in Jakarta. On Thursday (10/9/2020) the number of active cases increased to 11,810 cases. There was a 48% increase in 10 days.
The death rate from Covid-19 in Jakarta has also increased. There were 197 cases of death from Covid-18 in early September. Also, now the capacity of inpatient beds, the capacity of beds for ICU is limited.
